Joshua Hartloper for President of the United States Statement About Accidental Discharge Death of Kentucky Native Airman Brayden Lovan

Joshua Hartloper for President of the United States Statement of Accidental Discharge Death of Kentucky Native Airman Brayden Lovan

Sig Sauer P320 handgun suspended by Air Force Global Strike Command After Airman’s Death

This statement is in response to the Air Force Global Strike Command’s Investigation into the death of Airman Brayden Lovan, a Kentucky native with the F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming.

“Based on the information available our campaign is confident Airman Lovan died from an accidental discharge of his firearm and our heartfelt condolences are sent his family and the Air Force community. I personally use Sig Sauer firearms and as a weapons expert that has trained and deployed with Delta Force, Seal Team 6 and other elite units when I was with the U.S. Army's 75th Ranger Regiment, I agree with the Sig Sauer's statement. “The P320 CANNOT  under any circumstances, discharge without a trigger pull- this is fact. The allegations against the P320 are nothing more than individuals seeking profit or avoid responsibility.” Sig Sauer stated March 7, 2025.

Sig Sauer has been the subject of significant and unnecessary scrutiny due to the reports of Air Man Lovan’s unintended discharge. The lawsuits against Sig Sauer are unfounded and law enforcement and military decisions to pull the firearm from and switch to other firearms for to safety concerns is an over reaction and should be resolved.

We agree with the U.S Army’s decision and response to this case to “not make any changes to its P320-based weapons” as a result of this incident. We support the voluntary upgrade program by Sig Sauer to address this issue and hope this will settle and further discussion on this matter.
